Retire In Colorado Springs

Whenever people start to think about retirement and where they want to live in their golden years, they usually dream up images of far away places that are hot and sunny all day, every day, all year round. You've worked everyday at the mill or the Riverside bankruptcy lawyers firm long enough and don't want to be cooped up inside any longer. Honestly, who doesn't want to live in a city in which they can go rollerblading 7 days a week or walk around in nothing more than comfortable shorts and a tee shirt? That's the dream, right? Work at a cold New York or Toronto catering company and retire to the beaches of Mexico or the warm weather of Louisiana.

However, there are some places people can retire to that don't have to be all about the sun and the hot weather. There are other attractions cities feature that also can entice retired folk to spend their free time there. One such location is Colorado Springs, Colorado. Really, the weather isn't that bad in Colorado Springs. Sure, there's snow and rain but it's not like that everyday. Plus one of attractions of retiring to a place like Colorado Springs is you get to enjoy doing something like skiing or snowboarding or mountain climbing. Adventurous outings that you can't do in some warmer cities.

Imagine living in a city with such parks or trails as famous as Garden of the Gods park, Pikes Peak or Seven Falls? Every day could be a different experience from the previous day. Why wouldn't you want to sell your real estate in downtown Toronto and move to Colorado Springs?

Of course there are other things you can do during your retirement that don't exude as much energy. You can visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, take a tour of the United States Olympic Training Center, walk around downtown to do some shopping where you might find some unique local growers supplies for your garden, picnic at Acacia Park or hit up the Peterson Air and Space Museum for a tour. Those are just few examples of things to do in Colorado Springs. Since you're retired and don't have much to do, you'll have plenty of time to explore the city and find your own hotspots.
